For the most part, he runs his blog like a traditional news site, clearly has good industry contacts and always winds up involved in a couple of sessions. The PR pitch deluge inevitably follows.

A good way to do that is to build relationships through content before the show even begins. Schedule some strategic posts to be published during the show. Sales people belong in the booth.
