I worked for my school newspaper, and when I joined the Marines I was a public affairs officer. When you go out on exercises, you essentially report out on what’s happening, and so I got a chance to use those skills in the Marines as well. I did think about whether I would be a journalist or an editor. We ran a base newspaper.
