James Grunig assembled a team of six public relations academics and practitioners under his leadership. Shirley Leitch and David Neilson challenge the rigid nature of the Excellence Theory in a chapter written for the Handbook of Public Relations[vii]. This is not the case in the era of the social web and I would argue never has been.
