After his journalism career, he served as director of public relations for the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, and later as executive vice president of SMS Communications, Honolulu. Miyamoto served PRSA’s Hawaii Chapter in many leadership positions, culminating as president in 1989. He was born in Joliet, Ill., in October 1944.

Kelly retired from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in 2019 after 16 years, including three years as chair of the Public Relations Department, where she was an internationally recognized authority on fundraising as a specialization of public relations. Kelly, Ph.D., She was 77. Page Society.
