I was spending all my time working for the school newspaper, and I had to tell my dad, “I’m not going to be an engineer.” ” So, I ended up taking a job at IBM as head of global media relations. What about in terms of privacy? I started in engineering in college, and I couldn’t hack the math.

I worked for my school newspaper, and when I joined the Marines I was a public affairs officer. We ran a base newspaper. Then there’s the specific technical skills of media relations and internal communications. I did think about whether I would be a journalist or an editor. There was a radio station.
