I ended 45 years in journalism when I retired as editor of the Austin American-Statesman in 2008, so it didn’t feel like a “switch” so much as completing one phase of my life. Probably because of my background in journalism (see the next answer), the thing I continue to enjoy the most is writing (for effective communications). One can’t get more miserable than being forced to incorporate lies (or at least partial truths) as part of a supposedly transparent and ethical speech. Why do you work in PR?
