The Two Wars and us in The Middle.

In his weekly column "Max's Column" for TBmagazine, Maxim Behar talks about the difficulties and changes in the Bulgarian economy and business and the only force that counts - experience.

I'm not sure how many of you realize, but we've been caught between two wars for months. And we don't know which one is scarier. No, I don't mean the one in Ukraine, but the other one – in the Middle East. The real "military" wars may be more, but none of us here, in the small and baffled Bulgaria, cares about what's happening even a hundred kilometers from our borders.

The first war is clear – people are dying. At least 90 percent of civilians are already dead, and never more than 10 percent of soldiers. But the second war is no less terrifying – the information war. In practice, since 1945, for the first time, there have been devastating military actions in conditions of fake news, boundless propaganda, outright lies, and entire platforms that influence entire nations, not to say completely deceive them.

Giant state machines are engaged to defend one thesis or another and thus confuse as many people as possible. Or – precisely us! Because we are all caught between these two wars. And we never actually know whose side we are on until both sides press us.
