Stagwell examined Americans’ perspectives on new artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

A survey was conducted from Jan. 27–29, 2023.

Key findings include:
1.) 52% of Americans said they did not trust AI tech.
2.) 67% of Americans said they were concerned about the safety of generative AI technology.
3.) 54% of respondents said they were familiar with generative AI tools, and nearly 1-in-5 have used one.
— Only 29% of Americans said they have not used generative AI nor were they interested in doing so.
4.) Less than half (44%) said that it was easy to tell the difference between something created by AI and something created by a human.
— 58% of respondents said they thought things created by generative AI tools were less impressive than things created by people.
