What is Bridging in an Interview?

Over the past 40 years, our team at HMA Public Relations has conducted well over 200 media trainings for clients and brands of all shapes and sizes. During the training, we not only review the do’s and don’ts of an interview, conduct mock interview to review key messaging, and even give advice on hair, makeup and wardrobe as needed.

During our media training, we also cover the topic of bridging.

As the name suggests, this communication device is meant to help an interviewee get to the messaging he/she wishes to be included in the story at hand despite the direction that the line of questioning may be going. When done effectively, the conversation re-direction can be seamless.
