Summertime is the Right Time for Business Development

Summertime is the Right Time for Business Development

Memorial Day has ushered in the unofficial start to the summer season. What does that mean for your Solo PR consultancy? Does business slow down or do you find yourself gearing up for client events? For those of us who are parents working from home, summer brings a change to the pace of our days. Whatever way your summer flows, here are some ways to make time for business development.

Start Planning Now for Fall

If your business tends to slow in the summer and pick up again in the Fall, now is the perfect time to stock up on your content and plan out your editorial calendar for the remainder of the year. We help get our PRO level members started with access to editorial and social media calendar templates.

Goal Check-in

Halfway through the year is a good time to pause and reevaluate your annual goals. Are you on track for revenue, client load? Maybe you’ve found your goals have changed. Now is the time to realign and adjust with an eye on a strong ending to your year.

Summer School

Make time for professional development. Is there an online class or webinar you’ve been pushing off? A book or two you’ve meant to read? Put it on your calendar and get it done.

Retreat

If taking time throughout the summer is a challenge, carve out a few days for a business retreat for one. Choose a fun, new hotel you’ve had your eye on and book a night or two for a working staycation.

Refuel

We all need inspiration in and outside of our work lives. Arrange a visit with a business similar to yours, to talk shop or explore possibilities of working together. Do some networking outside your usual travels of card exchanges and trade shows. Choose at least one new way to replenish this summer and reap the benefits well into the end of the year.

What’s on your summer business development agenda? We’ll be talking about this in our Solo PR PRO private Facebook group, one of the many benefits of becoming a Solo PR Pro Member. Join us!
