The difficulties of rising above show noise were never more apparent than at MWC, the annual mobile industry confab, which I attended last month in Barcelona.

Happy Birthday World Wide Web

PR in High Definition

Allow me a brief retrospective: it’s 2004 and I’ve just graduated, but I’m visiting friends still at university. One of them tells me about Facebook – ‘it’s the best thing ever!’ – but because I don’t have a university email address any more, I can’t use it. The following year I get a Gmail account – it’s invite-only, but a guy on my PR postgrad has access. That wasn’t my first experience of the internet , which involves murky IRC chatrooms, but it marks a point when I started to realise the pote

When Your PR Problem Isn’t About PR

ImPRessions - Crenshaw Communications

For PR professionals, it’s interesting when a particular company or public figure is said to have a “PR problem.” Of course the term is used as shorthand, but it can signal that brand-watchers are misdiagnosing what’s really wrong. “Bad PR” generally means negative media coverage, but the coverage is often a symptom rather than the problem.
