EUGENE, OR – After years of continued growth, the Institute for Public Relations (IPR) has expanded, opening a second office at the University of Oregon (UO) in the School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC).

“We’re excited to partner with and welcome IPR to Oregon,” said Dr. Juan-Carlos Molleda, Edwin L. Artzt Dean and professor of the SOJC and an IPR trustee. “Our faculty, our students, and I are looking forward to further supporting the organization’s mission and collaborating with the most influential public relations research and education institute in the world. We are well aligned and can achieve more together.”

As part of the partnership, IPR will collaborate on research projects and hire student assistants who support the research-based mission of IPR. The mission of the UO SOJC focuses on freedom of expression, dialogue, and democracy—all of which are critically important to IPR and how the nonprofit champions research in the field.

“We’re incredibly grateful and proud to partner with the University of Oregon to expand IPR’s presence and research work as part of the SOJC community,” said Yanique Griffin-Woodall, Chair, Board of Trustees for IPR and Vice President, Communications and Customer Experience for CVS Health. “We look forward to adding value and creating an enriched academic experience for faculty and students as we collaborate on future research projects.”

Dr. Tina McCorkindale, president and CEO of the Institute for Public Relations, teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Oregon and serves on the Strategic Communication Leadership Network for University of Oregon’s SOJC Portland campus.

“The University of Oregon is one of the most prestigious and well-regarded public relations programs in the nation,” said McCorkindale. “We’re excited to work with the faculty on research projects that align with both of our organizations and with their students.”
