Creative and Caring Coverage

The world hungers for more information about the coronavirus and the media delivers with updates regarding the spread of cases and resources that viewers can turn to turn to in times of need. Recently, the Arizona Department of Health Services released its dashboard that allows you to see where patients have tested positive for COVID-19 based on zip code.

In my house, the news is on 90% of the time. While it is great to stay up-to-date with this information, sometimes hearing bad news over and over again can make me feel down or anxious. Recognizing the need to share uplifting stories as well during these times, the media has also started focusing on the positive stories that are happening in our communities.

I was reminded of one of these positive stories when I received a video text message from life coach, Tony Robbins. The video highlighted a couple of these feel-good stories, including ABC15’s coverage of a local couple that has been collecting food to feed children while the schools are closed. Robbins reinforces the idea that anyone can succor those in our community regardless of social or financial status. We all can do our part as humans to use our caring nature and creativity to help those who need it most.

When the media feature local people and businesses that have stepped up during this time, it is easier for others to be inspired to do the same. How has your creativity helped others?
