Download Free Copy of Crisis EBook

Two years ago, I was invited to organize and edit a crisis management eBook for RockDove Solutions, the technology company behind the In Case of Crisis app. Our goal was to share current thinking on crisis management from senior practitioners who advise organizations facing major crisis situations. As detailed in the firm’s blog post, the eBook came about in early 2018 and updated shortly afterwards with additional chapters. The third edition of “The New Rules of Crisis Management” was published this week and now available via free download.

Newly added chapters in the third addition were written by the following four crisis pros:

  • Tilden Katz of FTI Consulting writes about the impact of the changes on the so-important working relationship between attorneys and crisis practitioners.
  • Harlan Teller, CMO at Northern Arizona University, examines the challenges facing higher education in managing issues and crises.
  • Scott Farrell of Golin makes the case that effective crisis response means balancing the human touch with technology.
  • Sarah Tyre of Weber Shandwick assesses one of the greatest risks faced by every organization in the country, cybersecurity.

Special thanks to the Rock Dove team for their leadership in advancing crisis management in the digital age. Rules are much different today than they were when I started out in this profession. No more massive 3-ring binders that nobody read after being painfully drafted. We hope this free eBook will be helpful to professors training the next generation of business and public relations leaders, plus the insights may spur new approaches for organizations facing crisis situations. .
