As PR professionals, we love a good accolade and understand that third-party validation speaks volumes. This year’s International Convention host city is earning one after another.

Travel + Leisure just named Indianapolis to their “America’s Favorite Cities” list. Condé Nast Traveler named Indy to its “Best Places to Visit This Summer” list alongside international bucket list destinations, claiming it “the most underrated food city in the U.S.” Readers of Condé Nast also voted Indy’s airport the “Best Airport in America” for the second consecutive year. Indy landed the #3 spot on Livability.com’s list of “Top 10 Best Downtowns.” And Lonely Planet dubbed it “America’s Most Surprising City.” Since we’re talking about our convention destination, let’s not forget that readers of USA Today voted Indy the “#1 Convention City in the U.S.” as well.

Fall is a beautiful time of year to visit Indy, and we know as soon as you arrive, you’ll see why the city is grabbing headlines.

Our host hotel, the JW Marriott, is in the heart of the action, with endless entertainment possibilities a short walk or bike ride away. You can’t miss White River State Park, the nation’s largest urban state park next door to the hotel and home to seven major attractions. With the Indianapolis Zoo, IMAX Theater, State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, NCAA Hall of Champions, and History Center, there’s something for everyone. The Central Canal and its scenic 1.5 mile walking and biking path winds through the park, activated by Segways, kayaks, runners, walkers, murals, monuments, and more.

Take some time to explore the Cultural Trail that runs adjacent to the hotel, and the six distinct neighborhoods it connects – each with its own flavor of dining, shopping, and entertainment.

The city’s performing arts season will be in full swing, with the renowned Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra back at Hilbert Circle Theatre on Monument Circle and thought-provoking plays at the Indiana Repertory Theatre, both in walking distance.

Venture to the iconic and spiritual heart of the city, Monument Circle, and head to the top for an eagle-eye view of the city. Or go underground at City Market for a Catacombs tour.
