Big Bang Media Training

HMA Public Relations regularly provides media training sessions for our clients.
Media training is designed to help you work with the media instead of against them.  These sessions include information regarding the media, what makes a good story and how to be a reliable resource for a reporter.  In addition, these seminars often provide on-camera and on-phone training where participants have an opportunity to try out their skills. Each “interview” is replayed and critiqued by the trainer.
Even sit-com characters need media training!
On the series finale of “The Big Bang Theory,” Sheldon Cooper and his wife Amy Farrah Fowler were ambushed by the media who wanted to know about the pair winning a Nobel Prize.  It wasn’t a hostile or combative topic, but the unprepared duo flunked their press conference.  Great for a sit-com story line.
It’s not a new thing.  In the late ‘90s in an episode of the original “Will & Grace” series, Will Truman was met unsuspectingly by reporter Anthony Duquesne of Channel 3 News.  The interview was a disaster for Truman, who was caught off-guard and made to look pretty foolish.  Perfect if it’s a sit-com and not a real-life scenario.
Just a little pre-planning for any interview can make or break the opportunity to deliver key messages in a credible, well-received manner.
