NEW YORK — Don Yount, President and CEO of Critical Mention—the leading all-in-one media monitoring and intelligence platform—has been named to PRWeek’s list of the Top 25 most influential people in PR in recognition of the work he has done at the Company since joining in 2016.

In the time since Yount was tapped by the Critical Mention Board of Directors to lead the Company, he has overseen several transformative projects and achievements that resulted in 15 consecutive months of record-breaking new bookings through December of 2019. These milestones included:

  • A complete migration of the Critical Mention platform to AWS
  • The addition of Licensed Content to the Critical Mention platform
  • Expanded content coverage across the globe
  • Record platform uptime
  • A record number of Critical Mention customers added to the platform as of January 2020
  • The additions of Facebook and YouTube as social sources in the Critical Mention platform

“I am both flattered and humbled to receive this recognition from PRWeek,” Yount said. “Critical Mention has made great strides over the past several years due to the commitment our employees demonstrate every day. This acknowledgment is a reflection of the incredible effort, hard work and ingenuity unique to the Critical Mention team.”

Before arriving at Critical Mention, Yount served as president of Corente, a cloud networking-technology company. During his tenure there, Corente expanded its software-as-a-service-based networking solution to include multiple, large-scale distribution partnerships on top of its direct-to-user model, ultimately leading to an acquisition by Oracle.

Yount’s background in both finance and technology made him a logical choice for Critical Mention in 2016 and he has overseen a turnaround in the Company’s stature during his tenure. In the time since Yount came to Critical Mention, he has stressed three qualities: speed, reliability and unwavering customer support.

“I often tell our employees that collectively, they are the smartest group of people I know, and I believe that wholeheartedly,” Yount said. “Like any business, Critical Mention faces the challenge of constantly adapting to a rapidly changing market. I am proud to say we have been able to successfully navigate those changes in recent years. Based on our team’s talents, we will be able to respond to our customers’ needs even more rapidly in the future.”
