#MediaMonday – Holly Bock

Today’s #MediaMonday comes to us from AZ Family, where Holly Bock has joined the team as a reporter.  Holly isn’t new to Arizona – she’s just making a return.

Holly, time to share:

This isn’t my first time in Arizona, as I attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, graduating cum laude in 2018.  I was then at KFOX14 and CBS4 KDBC in El Paso, Texas, for three years.  There, I did it all. I was a weekend weather anchor and nightside multi-media journalist. I also filled in on the anchor desk often, occasionally even doing sports! I love El Paso dearly. It will forever hold a special place in my heart.

While in the Sun City, I covered everything from the Walmart mass shooting in 2019 to Vice President Kamala Harris’ first official visit to the southern border.

I grew up in Los Angeles and loved every bit of it. I love the ocean more than anything and because it is such a big city, there was always something going on.

When I was little my parents said I was always asking a ton of questions. When I’d see police cars and hear sirens, I always had to know what was going on. My mom and dad used to say, “Holly Bock, Channel 5 News” every time I had my head poking out the window, trying to gather information from the backseat of our car. My curiosity drove me into this profession. After a tour of the KTLA newsroom from one of my idols, Chris Schauble, I knew this is what I wanted to do. Everyone has a story, and I knew I wanted to help share them.

When I’m not working you can catch me at a country music concert or a sporting event (Go Dodgers!). I grew up going to the lake every summer, so I’m a big boating girl. I love wakeboarding, swimming and just being outdoors in general.

I love a good food place, so send your recommendations my way! Burgers, pizza and Mexican food are my favorite, but I’d love to try anything!

A little fun fact about me: I was named after a Boston song. (My parents clearly love the band!)

My family is now split between Los Angeles, Lake Havasu City and Flagstaff so to say I am happy to be back in Arizona is an understatement.

I can’t wait to get to know everyone in this community and help share your stories.

Please feel free to send story ideas to me at Holly.Bock@azfamily.
