Want to boost your social engagement? Use video

By Hannah Feran

Start incorporating video on your company’s social media platforms

Matthew KwongVideo is the biggest thing in social media right now. Over the last few years, it has become the cornerstone of many top corporations’ social media campaigns. However, even though people are increasingly consuming online videos on a daily basis, many companies still aren’t using digital video as part of their social media strategy.

It can be daunting to create video content for your company. You may wonder if it will be worth the effort and whether your videos will be helpful in accomplishing your business goals. A report from HubSpot Research showed that 54% of consumers prefer to see videos from brands over other types of content. Videos are an absolute necessity for strong engagement on social channels.

As an agency that manages social, Axia Public Relations knows it’s often tough to convince a client to try something new. We recently worked with a new company that needed a social media presence. We discussed how important it was to include video in the company’s social strategy. We suggested a series of videos addressing FAQs and offering tips, tricks, and industry trends for followers.

Since posting those videos, we’ve seen a tremendous jump in our client's social media engagement and following. Genuine, personable videos are the most powerful content you can provide your audience.

Axia positions its clients as thought-leaders in their industry, whether it be insurance, construction, health, retail, etc. We shoot videos that come across as non-promotional and instead offer insider knowledge that will educate viewers. This builds the audience’s trust and helps convert fans to customers.

If your company isn’t using video on social, it’s time to get in touch with the experts. An easy way to begin understanding social media is to apply for Axia’s team workshop "Building and Leveraging a LinkedIn Profile." Knowing the do’s and don’ts on LinkedIn is pivotal for prospecting effectively.
