How To Make Your Content Super-Engaging (Easily)

Cision

You’ve probably noticed that blogs and content pieces rarely read like The New York Times or Wall Street Journal. The difference isn’t always a matter of substance; style is a reason that we are attracted to and continue to engage with content pieces. Cyrus Shepard of Moz wrote a great article describing his experiments with content style : how added “structure” for content pieces increased the length of time readers engage with the content.

What’s the Difference Between Managing an Online Crisis vs. an Offline Crisis?

Melissa Agnes

A viewer recently asked me whether or not there is a difference between managing an online crisis vs. managing an offline crisis. They wondered if there were additional steps that may need to be taken when managing the former and, if so, what they are. As this is a common question, I thought I’d answer it in this week’s #crisisready video , where I take the opportunity to make a very important statement.

AdTech NY 2016 Wrap

Flack's Revenge

I attended AdTech last week, which featured a great lineup of keynotes and panels and over 100 vendors. It seems like there’s never enough time at big shows to check out everything (Fusion PR is one stop away on the 7 subway line, too close to keep me from work’s orbit). Some of the most interesting things are not in the program – they occur “interstitially”, during networking and conversations in-between sessions.

PR News

At a networking event last week, an industry colleague asked me if I’ve ever Googled myself. She whispered the question to me as if to self-Google were verboten. Fortunately, we were interrupted by a mutual friend and neither of us had to share the answer, which is, of course, Yes! Who hasn’t done that in… Continued. The post Do Your 3 Search Words Suck?

Explore How Artificial Intelligence Will Transform the Marketing Industry, and Your Career

PR 20/20

Editor's Note: This post was originally published on the Marketing Artificial Intelligence Institute , a new community for modern marketers created and powered by PR 20/20. In April 2015 I launched an internal initiative at PR 20/20 named Project Copyscale designed to answer one seemingly straightforward question, can we automate content creation through artificial intelligence (AI)?

The excellence of festive campaigns should teach us that brand engagement is not just for Christmas

Mark My Words

PR is deployed to whet consumer appetites by leaking morsels, as if we couldn’t picture what is in store for us. An adorably toothless child in a well-furnished house befriends a fantasy figure with a particular cause for sadness. The figure is a metaphor for the magic of childhood refracted through a wistful gauze of adult memory; we know this because the soundtrack is a popular song from 10 years ago, covered bitter-sweetly by a breathless chanteuse.
