7 tips for writing winning award submissions

Entering an awards program is a great way to showcase achievements, gain recognition and promote an organization by telling its story.

Awards can be used to attract new clients; an award from a reputable organization gives a brand instant credibility and allows it to be seen as a leader in its industry.

Follow these seven tips to write a winning award submission:

1. Allocate enough time to complete it

Give yourself plenty of time to fill out the award submission to the best of your ability. Start a few weeks prior to the due date so you don’t have to rush to complete it.

Often award applications will suggest the amount of time it will take for you to fill out the application. Take note of this estimate.

If you are unsure how long the application will take, quickly look through the questions so you can determine how long it will take you to write the answers. This will also give you a good indication of what type of information you will need to fill it out.

All awards have clear submission dates, and if you miss the due date, you’ve missed the opportunity.
