This is a lovely and quirky dive watch.
I’ve taken an interest in automatic watches and I fell in love with this odd-bird, a Vostok Amphibian dive watch.
No battery, only mechanics (2416 movement) — and some chemicals for the lume.
It’s a Russian watch, so it’s cheap as hell and built like a tank. A Vostok Amphibian meets the same diver requirements as a Rolex Submariner watch.
I’ve got monster wrists (22 cm), so this 41mm watch sits rather sleek for a diver. The leather racing strap is a bit on the smaller side for me, so I’ll be changing to a rugged Nato leather strap in the exact same red-brown color.
(Now, I know that leather on a diver isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t actually use these types of watches in the water.)
This particular watch is modded and sold exclusively by the Swedish Vostok enthusiast, Bo Jarnhäll.
